is a 'Taste of the West' multiple award winning ethical and sustainable family business established by Vegans Peter and Zsuzsanna Horvath in 2002.
We specialize purely in Plant Based, Animal & Wheat Free deli snacks and sandwich fillings. To eliminate even the possibility of cross contamination, we operate out of a 100% Vegan and
Wheat Free production kitchen based in Corston nr Bath.
We are Trademark Holders of the Vegan Society and all our recipes are registered with them. Aromafoods is Carbon Balanced by the World Land Trust.
To produce and deliver our food, we aim to use the absolute rock bottom minimum of our planet Earth's precious resources. We are conscious of our energy use and we aim to waste nothing.
For cooking we use Kassero`s GM free certified pure rapeseed oil.
One of our vehicles has been converted to LPG gas and we recycle our old cooking oil for bio-diesel. While on the subject of cooking oil, may we point out that we do not use any palm
oil as we strongly oppose the brutal clearance of tropical rain forests with their catastrophic effects on habitat and world ecology. Some of our snacks are baked to make them extra healthy.
We believe that gently cooked food tastes better, so we use special energy-efficient, thick-bottom steel pots & pans in which simmering can be achieved even at the lowest of gas marks.
Our food waste is ZERO.
Our paper and ink usage is kept to a minimum. We keep low stock levels to reduce electricity usage, recycle all our tins, plastic, cardboard & glass as well as cartridges.
Vegetarian/Vegan foods often contain nuts. We however decided at the very outset, that Aromafoods should also embrace those who are allergic or have intolerance to nuts, as Peter used to be during his
childhood years. He grew out of it naturally, but remembers the years of discomfort to the point of torture that came with nut intolerance. Instead of nuts, we prefer to use Omega 3 oil
containing seeds such as Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds and organic Flax seeds.Aromafoods' produce is all handmade, free from any GMO ingredients, alcohol, mushrooms and
artificial additives as there is a growing number of people who are allergic to them. The majority of our produce does not contain added sugar, making them suitable for diabetics.

We believe that harmless and waste-less food production is surely the answer to how to feed our planet's rapidly growing population... now having passed 7 billion.

be that we leave behind? What are the consequences of our mere existence? What we do in life;
could it be purer, more noble, more compassionate to all that lives? Are we making the world a better place with the choices we are making each and every day? For we can, in fact we must!

You might be pleasantly surprised, how packed with personality such Free-From foods can be, how they can tease the palate with their waves of aromatic taste sensations.
Balancing a recipe is similar to writing poetry, for flavours can rhyme too, and when they do it is just sublime. The secret is partly in the freshly roasting, grinding and blending
of spices & seeds as well as using generous amounts of fresh herbs infused in the juice of lemons and limes. Simplicity in cookery is key, just as it is in other fields of life,
where complexity ultimately proves to be unsustainable. A good example is our most popular sandwich filling, namely our Coronation Spinach which contains only a handful of ingredients yet
it tastes simply out of this world. As for our snacks, some are mild and some others are spicy to suit everyone's preference.
Rather than quantity, we prefer unique quality thus our limited choice of produce.
Our recipes, all of which are developed in-house by Peter, admittedly at times contain imagination stretching ingredient-combinations such as spiced apples with garam masala,
chilli-infused pineapples with cinnamon or spinach & fennel inside falafels, but for sure... they will take you on a journey to Taste Paradise while not costing the Earth!
